Mattu Gulla is a unique variety of brinjal (eggplant) grown in the Mattu region of Udupi, Karnataka, India. It's known for its distinctive taste, tender texture, and vibrant purple color, and is a GI (Geographical Indication) tagged product. This heirloom vegetable is a staple in Udupi cuisine, particularly in dishes like sambar.
